Spray antifurt SDNA

POLICE evaluation of a crime reduction campaign using SelectaDNA in Rotterdam has recently been announced and robbery figures have been reduced by a massive 65%.

The Amsterdam scheme uses SelectaDNA’s intruder spray which has been installed in luxury boutiques and jewellers. Altogether, 20 streets in the centre of the city have been declared a ‘SelectaDNA-protected’ zone by Police.

Once activated, the DNA spray emits a burst of hi-tech forensic solution onto the offenders. The solution contains a UV tracer and a unique DNA code, linking them irrefutably to the scene of the crime.

Traces of the DNA solution can be taken from the skin, hair and clothing of offenders, and sent away for forensic analysis to prove that they have broken into a particular premises. Although invisible and harmless, the UV and DNA will remain on an offender for weeks - clinging to fibres and sitting in creases of the skin.
Police routinely scan for traces of SelectaDNA in custody suites, and if they find it, it will help Police to obtain a conviction.

Art of the Steal: On the Trail of World’s Most Ingenious Thief

Gerald Blanchard could hack any bank, swipe any jewel. There was no security system he couldn't steal.
When the pilot gave the thumbs-up, Gerald Blanchard looked down, checked his parachute straps, and jumped into the darkness.
It was early June 1998, and the evening wind was warm. If it kept cooperating, Blanchard would touch down directly above the room that held the Koechert Diamond Pearl.

Este o poveste reala demna de filme. Merita citit tot articolul.

Marea teapa a reabilitarii termice

How to catch an iPhone thief

The whole thing started when my plane landed in Los Angeles on Monday afternoon at 2:55pm coming from Cabo San Lucas. The guy sitting next to me on the plane asked me to loan him a pen so that he could fill out his customs form. I watched him fill out the form and clearly remember his birth year of 1984, but am a bit unsure about his name. I think it was -----, but in this story, we will refer to him as Pinche.

Mie mi se pare usor socant cat de usor gasesti informatii despre persoanele din america.

The girl who conned her way into Harvard

"There's something I need to ask you," the officer continued. "Are you Brooke Henson?"
"Yes," Brooke said into the phone. "That's me."
On the one hand, she had a purse full of proof that she was Brooke: her student ID, a Vermont driver's license, a U.S. passport, an Ohio identification card, a South Carolina birth certificate. She had a part-time job, a rented apartment not far from campus on New York's Upper West Side and a full course load at Columbia, all registered under the name Brooke Henson.

On the other hand, she wasn't Brooke Henson.

She packed a suitcase hastily, grabbed her two Shih Tzus, hailed a cab and headed straight off the grid. By the time New York police came knocking with a DNA test, "Brooke Henson" was long gone.

Pentru cei care nu au aflat inca Mininova a fost golit de toate torentele "suspecte" din cauza unei hotarari judecatoresti.

Google Navigation

Google just announced a beta free navigation system that will come with Android 2.0 from the start. That hit TomTom and Garmin stock. (down 34%!)

Google already knows what you search for (Google search), what you write about (gmail),what you chat about (gtalk), what you're working on (gWave), what you talk about (gVoice), where you are (g Latitude), what you do with your mobile (Android), what you like to watch (Youtube), what you buy online (gCheckout), what you model in 3d (SketchUp), who you talk to, what photos you take and where you take them (Picasa), what your medical records are (Google Medical), who your friends are (indexes Facebook by contract).
With Google navigation they'll know where you're going, who you're visiting, when you're doing it, what route you're taking and how fast you were going. All for free!
Google has admitted that their central AI (yes they have one) continously builds "anonymous profiles" of the users.

Frumos nu? Totusi Google Maps nu merge in Romania... inca.

Repo Man

It was snowing hard when the bank called Nick Popovich. They needed to grab a Gulfstream in South Carolina now. Not tomorrow. Tonight.

All commercial and private planes were grounded, but Nick Popovich wasn't one to turn down a job. So he waited for the storm to clear long enough to charter a Hawker jet from Chicago into South Carolina. There was just one detail: No one had told Popovich about the heavily armed white supremacist militia that would be guarding the aircraft when he arrived.

Cat valoreaza identitatea ta

cybercrime experts Steve Santorelli and Levi Gundert introduced me to a sprawling criminal underworld so large and pervasive that no one can control it.

This underworld is surprisingly easy to access. It consists of a network of online chatrooms and web forums where stolen information is openly traded, along with off-the-shelf software tools needed to pull off just about every kind of online scam going. "This is an economy that is worth billions of dollars," says Dean Turner of the security company Symantec in Calgary, Canada. "It's highly organised. Everything that criminals need is available for sale."

It was not always like this. In the early days, criminal hacking required advanced technical skills. But organised crime has moved in and the black market has become a service economy where anybody can buy a career in cybercrime.

As soon as Santorelli and Gundert log me onto a chatroom, messages start to appear.
