Sweden Solar System

The Sweden Solar System is the world's largest scale model of the solar system. The sun is represented by the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, the largest hemispherical building in the world. The inner planets can also be found in Stockholm but the outer planets are situated northward in other cities along the Baltic Sea. It was started by Nils Brenning and Gösta Gahm.[1] It is in the scale of 1:20 million.[2]

Pavilionul Croatiei - Mirage

Following the same principles of a Fata Morgana, which is an unusual and very complex form of Mirage that can be seen in a narrow band right above the horizon, the Floating Pavilion is constructed on an existing barge with dimensions of 10m x 20m x 3m. It is designed by a group of 14 leading Croatian architects, who have made the recent Croatian architecture visible on the global scene. the team that designed the Croatian Pavilion for the Venice Biennale decided to create a floating pavilion to present arts and architecture of Croatia at the Venice Biennale.
Sper sa fie la fel de impresionant si in realitate.

Complete "Benshoshan" Apartment Design

This is an apartment completely designed and executed by designer Ron Benshoshan and his girlfriend. From top to bottom, everything from the faucets in the bathroom to the floating unit below the TV.
Here’s the big list:
They tore down the wall in the kitchen opening it up to the living room and dining area. United the the bathroom making one long bathroom. Made the bedroom bigger by closing an indoor balcony. Created a bar that comes out of the wall. And all kinds of other little additions, fixes, and mods.
Then Benshoshan personally designed and built most of the items seen in the pictures:
Large wall clock.
Floating unit below the tv.
Round table and red chairs.
Table and pipe lamp.
Cats playing area which is hung in the red room.
Faucet in the bathroom.
Wooden bar.
Lights in the living room (with red cords.)
Bed and side table in bedroom.
Mi se pare foarte interesant ca a luat un apartament similar cu ale noastre si si-a facut de cap.
Cel mai mult imi place ceasul cu ceasuri.

Rent a White Guy

Not long ago I was offered work as a quality-control expert with an American company in China I’d never heard of. No experience necessary—which was good, because I had none. I’d be paid $1,000 for a week, put up in a fancy hotel, and wined and dined in Dongying, an industrial city in Shandong province I’d also never heard of. The only requirements were a fair complexion and a suit.

“I call these things ‘White Guy in a Tie’ events,” a Canadian friend of a friend named Jake told me during the recruitment pitch he gave me in Beijing, where I live. “Basically, you put on a suit, shake some hands, and make some money. We’ll be in ‘quality control,’ but nobody’s gonna be doing any quality control. You in?”

Reversible Destiny Lofts in Tokyo

The lofts have bumpy floors, uneven levels, small door openings, crawl spaces, cramped kitchens, ceiling outlets, and a whole ton of wonky amenities. Take a tour inside the lofts to see.
The idea is that by living in such a unique and different space, it'll keep the residents nimble and their minds fresh. Those who want to tend to old fragile bones and stay comfortable need not apply.

move-it DIY portable Trolley

The Move-it Kit is actually quite a neat idea for those who walk back home with all their shopping goodies. The DIY kit is a makeshift trolley that’s really durable and is made from self-adhesive cardboard parts. It transforms from reckless pieces of cardboard to a functional cart for parcels within minutes. You don’t have to be a genius to piece the cart together because its construction is very basic and simple.

It’s strong enough to take in up to 20 kgs and the parts stay bonded strong thanks to the special repulpable contact adhesive. Consisting of a set of wheels and two different types of handle, a combination of these components allows you to move boxes of almost any size and shape! Once home, you can literally recycle the whole trolley (wheels and adhesive included) because once used, you can’t dismantle it and reuse again. This is its the only downside.

San Juan "Orasul Pietornal"

The government has approved plans for a redesign of this Puerto Rican city, featuring a new mass transit system, new roads and intersections, and more beach access points. The biggest change? No cars allowed inside the city.

The plans hope to remedy previous poor urban planning in the oldest section of the city, the Isleta, while curbing reliance on motor vehicles. The plans for redevelopment also hope to make the city more appealing in order to attract new residents, as San Juan has suffered from a shrinking population over the past 60 years.

Street Train

(la 0:50 incepe demonstratia video)

building more subway is costly and time consuming. Well, here is an cheaper, greener and fast alternative to lighten their mind up a bit: the straddling bus, first exhibited on the 13th Beijing International High-tech Expo in May this year. In the near future, the model is to be put into pilot use in Beijing’s Mentougou District (bjnews). (The official site of the high-tech expo put it as 3D fast bus, which I think is more confusing, for now I’ll just call it the straddling bus.)
